I call Phyllis Hyman and Sade Obscure Gems because they never recieved the public recognition they should have.

Phyllis Hyman's style was always modest and unassuming. She was fashionable without be bold and brash. She sang with emotion, yet she was never harsh in style.

Sade remains my all-time favorite singer. No other singer has duplicated her quiet, bold style. She didn't use vulgar or rough style to get her message across. I wish songs such as "Clean Heart" and "War of the Hearts" would inspire new artists. I tire of the same R&B songs with similar words and meaning and no orginality.
